Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid are in negotiations over a potential deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to reports.

The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge after his comments last September but have since then dismissed the speculations.

However, Real are said to have opened negotiations to sign Courtois in the next summer transfer window, with reports that a £26million fee is being discussed.

The 24-year-old has been impressive form for Chelsea, since he returned in 2014, having spent three years with Atletico Madrid.

It is understood that Real Madrid president Fiorentina Perez has met with Courtois’ representatives and will move to the Santiago Bernabeu, after they failed to sign him last summer.

Reports in the Daily Mirror have it that Real is now locked down in talks with his agent over a summer move.

Chelsea are also said to be interested in a move for Alvaro Morata which could be a makeweight in a potential deal for Courtois, although Real boss Zinedine Zidane is not keen on letting the striker leave anytime soon.

Blues second choice keeper, Asmnir Begovic is also keen on leaving the Stamford Bridge in the current transfer window, with strong links with a move to Bournemouth who have been asked to increase their initial bid for the goalkeeper
