Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley was in superb form for the Three Lions of England following their win over Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifiers on Monday night.

The former Everton player scored twice to give England a thumping 5-1 win over their hosts in Podgorica.

It was a five-star showing from England manager Gareth Southgate and his players especially Ross Barkley.

The home side took a shock lead in the 17th minute but England responded to adversity with two goals in the last third of the first half through Michael Keane and the aforementioned Barkley.

England went into the halftime interval with the 2-1 advantage with the goals from Keane and Barkley.

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has struggled to start games for the Blues under Maurizio Sarri with Croatian international Mateo Kovacic preferred to him in the Chelsea starting XI for the majority of the games in the Premier League.

Barkley added the third goal for England on the cusp of the hour mark before Harry Kane and the in-form Raheem Sterling added further goals to give the Three Lions of England a comprehensive win in their Euro qualifier away from home.

The win maintained their perfect start to the Euro 2020 qualifiers in Group A.
