Everton forward Romelu Lukaku has decided to join Manchester United ahead of Chelsea this summer, according to reports.

The Belgian forward has been tipped to leave the Goodison Park this summer, drawing keen interest from a host of clubs in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Manchester United are understood to battling for Lukaku’s signature this summer, as they view him as a vital additions to their respective clubs.

Lukaku has been a key performer for Everton since he joined them from  Chelsea in 2014 and has scored 24 goals in the Premier League this summer but refused to sign an extension to his current deal at the club because he wants Champions League football next season.

It is understood that Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to bring in a centre-forward to replace Diego Costa who is poised to leave the Stamford Bridge this summer but reports in The Sun claim that Lukaku will not fancy a return to the Stamford Bridge this summer due to Conte’s defensive approach despite Chelsea’s keen interest.

The reports also claim that the 23-year-old will prefer a move to Manchester United because he believes Jose Mourinho will not demand him to defend if he join them next season.
