It appears Diego Costa is going to leave Chelsea after all, and Antonio Conte needs to get another brilliant replacement for him. One of the star strikers they’re after is Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge club for some times, and new reports have it that Chelsea are now hoping Didier Drogba’s friendship with Romelu Lukaku will help them land the Everton star.

Drogba is a legend at Chelsea, and he spent a year playing alongside Lukaku at Stamford Bridge.

The Sun stated that the west London club are keen the Ivorian to talk up the Belgium international to an end of season return to west London.

Drogba and Chelsea club owner Roman Abramovich are still close and both of them watched the Chelsea Vs Sunderland premier league game together.

Last summer, Conte tried to lure in Lukaku with a whopping £65m, but he failed. However, it is glaring that the Italian manager is still keen to get the 23-year-old’s signature.

And now, Chelsea are hoping Drogba can persuade the Belgian to make a summer return to Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku is currently on fire, as he has scored 22 times in all competitions this season, being amongst the top goal scorers in the premier league with a tally of 21 goals. He also scored for his Everton side in their premier league game against Hull City at Goodison Park.

And his impressive form is likely to make Everton’s management decide holding on to him, while, according to the Sun, Drogba will be used by Chelsea as a secret weapon to get him.
