Report: Liverpool End Interest In Major Summer Target

Naby Keita

It is well known RB Leipzig star player Naby Keita has emerged as a target for Liverpool this summer and has been linked with making a move to Anfield for much of this summer.

However, a deal is yet to be agreed between both clubs, and in a recent development, the Daily Mail today reported that Liverpool have grown impatient with Leipzig and will not be pursuing Keita again this summer.

The Bundesliga outfit have rejected bids from Liverpool for the Guinea international on two different occasions, and the last was around £66M.

Recently, there were speculations that an offer worth £70M was made for the talented midfielder, and he is keen on a move to the English top flight this summer.

However, Leipzig are not interested in selling him and have reiterated their stance that he is not for sale. And it appears the club won’t actually have a change of heart and Liverpool fans shouldn’t hope that a deal will be struck anytime soon.

Jurgen Klopp has identified the youngster as his major primary target this summer after his impressive performances last season in the Bundesliga, where he helped his side finished second behind Bayern Munich.

The German boss is determined to add more quality to his squad this summer ahead of a busy campaign next season, but it appears Keita won’t play at Anfield next season.
