Reigning European Champions Real Madrid expect to sign top Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe in the next fortnight after agreeing on a whopping world record £120million deal with Ligue 1 Champions Monaco.

The 18-year-old Arsenal target caught the eye of top European clubs, including Arsenal with a couple of brilliant performances in Monaco’s title-winning side last season.

The youngster spearheaded Monaco’s conquest to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season, and there’s been a lot of interest from across Europe.

The French club have already sold their top players such as Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer transfer window and had planned on keeping the youngster for another campaign.

However, the Sun reported that Real Madrid have agreed a transfer deal with the French club to take the starlet to the Santiago Bernabeu for a world transfer record of £120m.

Mbappe’s potential arrival will be a notable coup for Real Madrid, who saw off stiff competition from top European clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain for the frontman.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is desperate on bringing in a star player after selling off the likes of James Rodriguez to Bayern and Alvaro Morata to Chelsea to fund Mbappe’s transfer.

The forward, though, may only keep hold of the world record for a short while with Paris Saint Germain expected to meet Neymar’s £198m release clause in a matter of days.

Neymar is thought to have agreed to personal terms with PSG, and FC Barcelona cannot stop him leaving the Catalan club, if PSG meet the release clause.
