One of the vital things that made Chelsea outstanding this season under new Italian manager Antonio Conte is being able to strengthen the squad by signing some quality players during the last summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, perhaps Conte’s squad would have been much more better than what we see presently considering that the Stamford Bridge club were not able to sign some other quality players they targeted. And Belgian star player Radja Nainggolan, has recently revealed that Chelsea wanted to sign him too last summer.

The AS Roma midfielder confirmed that he held talks with Chelsea current boss Antonio Conte about a potential move to Stamford Bridge last summer. It was reported that Chelsea failed with a £23 million offer for Radja Nainggolan, with his Italian club refusing to budge from their £32 million asking price.

The Belgium international has successfully cemented his place as one of the best midfielders currently in the Serie A. The 28-year-old has scored nine goals for Roma and has also provided three assists for his club. He also admitted that he loves the premier league and watch English games a lot, confessing that he remains open to playing in the League.

Nainggolan told Sky Sports News that many of his Belgian teammates plays in the premier league and he thinks the English League is the best in the world.

He also stated that he talked with Conte and that they were really interested in him and wants him to come over to Stamford Bridge.

He concluded that he is presently having a good season at the Serie A but when the window opens again, they will talk about it again.
