Paul Merson: Here Is My Prediction About Chelsea And Man United Title Race

Paul Merson thinks Manchester United are back in the EPL title race and that they will definitely challenge table leaders Chelsea for the top-flight crown.

After a shaky start under new coach Jose Mourinho, United have finally begun to find some good form in recent week.

At the start of this season, Mourinho struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League with his boys. Nevertheless, ‘the special one’ has been doing his thing and his side have been much better in recent weeks. The Old Trafford club have won their last six games on the spin in the top flight.

Chelsea on the other hand have been the Premier League’s top performers this season so far. Unfortunately they suffered a big blow to their title hopes when they lost 2-0 to Tottenham last week.

The red devils are presently preparing for their interesting showdown on Sunday afternoon as they host Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Even though Merson feels Chelsea have the advantage as they aren’t participating in European football this season, he is still tipping Manchester United to challenge.

When he was asked if the last round of results have changed the title race, the former Arsenal man told Sky Sports : “Yes I do. I think it’s brought Manchester United back into it. I think anyone can win it still, it’s really opened it up over the last week or so.

“Ive looked at the fixtures and from next week until February, the top six play each other every weekend.

“The league will go up and down until then. I still just give Chelsea the advantage because they play once a week.” He added.
