Not Morata/Lukaku – Chelsea Show Seriousness In Signing Superstar This Summer

Chelsea are yet to make a major signing this summer with links a handful of top players ahead of next season. And in a recent development, Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski has also emerged as a target for the Premier League champions.

According to reports, the Stamford Bridge club have made an enquiry over the availability of the top striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Poland international joined the German heavyweights back in 2014 and has gone on to score 110 goals in 147 appearances for them. But he is being strongly linked with a move away from Munich in the coming months.

The Sun claims the Blues have made contact over a possible move for the 28-year-old this summer as Antonio Conte is set to bring in someone to replace departing Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.

Robert signed a new deal at Bayern last December which is meant to expire in the summer of 2021. However, the Poland star has vented his frustrations with his club in recent weeks with his agent Malik Barthel making a confirmation.

Barthel told Kicker how his client told him about how he isn’t getting support from the German club, including how their manager gave no call to help him in the last game to win the top-scorer title.

Chelsea remains in negotiations with Everton’s Romelu Lukaku but continues to explore other alternatives ahead of next season.
