From my observations in the premier league this season, We noticed that most of the top performing clubs are those who invested in buying classic players in the last summer transfer window – one of which is Manchester United.

The Old Trafford club signed a world class striker last summer in the person of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Swedish star has been sensational for Jose Mourinho’s side this current term.

Even though Ibra do not seem tired despite his age, the realistic fact remains that he will soon finally hang the boots anytime now. So, Manchester United needs to look out to sign a superb striker for the long term.

Just this week, it was claimed by the Daily Mail that the red devils and current premier league leaders Chelsea are struggling to sign Everton star forward Romelu Lukaku.

However, as things stands now, Monaco star player Kylian Mbappe is in the limelight.

ESPN reported that Manchester United have stepped up their interest in signing the young striker and they also monitored his performance in their Champions League clash against Manchester City. The teenage star scored in both legs.

This season so far, 18-year-old Mbappe has appeared in 31 matches and has scored 17 goals with 10 assists.

Even though Man United have other strikers like Wilson and Rashford apart from Ibrahimovic, it is still justifiable that Mourinho needs to sign another striker. Wilson has been injured for a long time, and the Portuguese coach mainly used Rashford on the flank.

Nevertheless, it is being said that Manchester United are not the only club interested in signing the French international. Arsenal and Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in Mbappe, and he is valued around 55 million euros (I.e £48million) by Monaco.
