No Worries: Van Dijk Is Unbothered By Champions League Final Opponents

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk (VVD) is not worried over the identity of their opponents in the Champions League final after the Reds booked their place in the 2019 edition.

Van Dijk spoke to reporters after him and Liverpool came back from three goals down in the tie to beat Spanish giants Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate.

According to him, all that matters is that Liverpool are through to a second successive Champions League final.

Liverpool will face winner of the Champions League semifinal tie between Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam and Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Ajax are leading 1-0 from the first leg at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of their second leg meeting in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.

Van Dijk was influential as usual for Liverpool as they thrashed Barcelona 4-0 in the second leg to overturn the 3-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Spanish club in the first leg meeting between the two sides last week.

Divock Origi scored the first and the last goal for Liverpool either side of the halftime interval and either side of the second half brace from substitute Georginio Wijnaldum.

Liverpool would be hoping to go one better from last season by winning this season’s Champions League trophy.
