Manchester United Take A Step Forward, Could Splash €60M For Two German Machines

According to report from Daily Mail, Manchester United sent scouts to Bayer Leverkusen’s quarters in Germany to watch keenly two potential signings of theirs.

United also joined other Premier League top teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, and Everton, to assess the duo of Hakan Calhanoglu and Julian Brandt, as those other teams were reportedly in attendance at Leverkusen’s game against Cologne.

Calhanoglu, whom according to The Sun is said to be valued at around €20million, is known for his professionalism from set pieces. And for the past two seasons, he has been attracting the interest from English teams.

Additionally, Calhanoglu is a versatile player who can play both from the wing and as a secondary striker. The 22-year-old would definitely add value to Jose Mourinho’s team if he should eventually become a United player.

On the other hand, Brandt, though still a youngster playing for the Germany Under-20 side, has worked hard to become a regular starter on the wing for a big side like Leverkusen. He is rated at around €40m.

This season, he has established himself as a key member of the Leverkusen team, displaying his superb unique playing style in the Bundesliga. Thus was considered as one of the most exciting prospects in German football at the moment.
