Manchester United are preparing a £30million move for Benfica defender Nelson Semendo, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Brazilian youngster since the last January window, with reports that they had an agreement with Benfica over the fullback during their negotiations for Victor Lindelof in the winter.

Following the arrival of Lindelof earlier this summer, there have being increased speculations that United will move Semedo to bolster their options at the right back position.

The 23-year-old has made 64 appearances for the Portuguese giants since he broke into the first team in 2015 as many fans and pundits alike have tipped him for greater success.

Reports in Portuguese outlet O Jogo claim that United boss, Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Semedo his second signing this summer after completing a move for Victor Lindelof.

The report also have it that the Red Devils are planning a £30million move for the defender as they continue to revamp their squad.

The right-back position is currently occupied by Antonio Valencia who has been a key figure for the Red Devils in previous seasons and also continued his fine form last season, churning out solid displays despite the hectic schedule.
