Liverpool told to pay £50m for Jurgen Klopp's top midfield targetLiverpool have been told to shell out £50million to sign RB Leipzip midfielder Naby Keita, according to reports.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the midfielder and has asked the club to pursue his signature as he looks to bolster ahead of next season, when they are expected to play more games due to their potential involvement in the Champions League.

However, the Bundesligs club are adamant on not selling one of their best players and will be reluctant in negotiating a deal for Naby Keita, who has been a revelation in his debut season for the club, scoring eight goals and eight assists in 31 appearances in the German league.

Reports in the Times have it that Leipzig are holding out for a fee around £50million for Keita and will hope to fend off interest from Liverpool.

It is understood that Klopp is keen on adding pace and depth to his current squad in order to better their current performances, but will have to smash the club’s record transfer fee that is at £35million (they paid for Andy Caroll six seasons ago)

Liverpool are for a busy summer after Klopp confirmed that he has started working on transfers that will better the club’s prospects next season.
