German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have rejected Liverpool’s £66 million offer for their midfielder Naby Keita.

The Reds have priotised the signing of Keita this summer, with reports that Jurgen Klopp believes the midfielder is the missing jigsaw that will better his midfield area next season.

However, Leipzig are unwilling to allow the 22-year-old leave the club this summer, insisting he is not sale despite Klopp’s advances since the start of the transfer window.

The Bundesliga side have now come out to reveal that they turned down Liverpool’s £66 million for the midfielder, insisting he is not for sale.

“We do not sell players who are still under contract just to make a lot of money,” Leipzig owner Dietrich Mateschitz told SportBild.

“Recently we got a €75m offer for Naby Keita. No way! He still has a contract and he will fulfil it.”

However, reports in Sky Sports claim that Liverpool will make another bid for Naby Keita this summer, with suggestions that the midfielder is also open to a move to Anfield.

Prior reports have it that player has told his representative to nick the Liverpool move and even wants the number 8 jersey but he will not force a from the German Bundesliga side.
