Liverpool Join €100m Race To Sign Sporting Lisbon Star

Champions League holders Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Bruno Fernandes during this transfer window.

Bruno Fernandes plays his club football for Portuguese Super League giants Sporting Lisbon at the moment.

According to the Daily Record, Liverpool are the latest club to show an interest in a summer move for the free-scoring midfielder.

Bruno Fernandes has been linked with several Premier League clubs from Manchester United to Chelsea to Manchester City.

The 24-year-old has a release clause of €100m in his contract at Sporting Lisbon.

Bruno Fernandes had a phenomenal season for Sporting Lisbon who ended the just concluded campaign with major honour in the Portuguese Cup.

Sporting Lisbon won the Portuguese Cup at the expense of rivals FC Porto via the dreaded penalty shootout after both teams played out a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time and extra time.

Bruno Fernandes scored 20 goals and also provided 13 assists in just 33 League games as Sporting Lisbon finished the season in third place just behind champions Benfica and runners-up FC Porto.

In total, he scored 33 goals and provided 17 assists for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions during the just concluded season.

The aforementioned report said that his agent will travel to London next week for talks with interested clubs as the race to sign him gradually comes to a halt.
