Not Lukaku – Chelsea Set To Offer World Talent A 4-Year Deal To Seal First Signing

Leonardo Bonucci

Chelsea are yet to make a summer signing, but it appears the status is changing any moment from now.

And even though many Chelsea fans are expecting Belgium international Romelu Lukaku to emerge as the first signing (considering how he has been in the news as of recent), perhaps there is something else to get us surprised.

According to new widespread reports, the Blues Italian manager Antonio Conte is still expecting to complete a £48m deal to bring Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Sun claims the former Juventus boss is keen to be reunited with Bonucci after both worked together back then at Turin (and even in the Italian national team).

It was however added that Chelsea won’t get the 30-year-old defender without a fight, as other top European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all also after his signature this summer.

The Sun also claimed that the premier league champions are ready to offer the Italy international a four-year deal worth £115,000 a week to complete the signing this summer, and he is believed to be more likely to come to Chelsea due to Antonio Conte’s influence.

Leonardo missed the chance to lift the Champions League trophy with Juventus following their 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid last Saturday at Cardiff.
