Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Loris Karius is the club’s No.1. choice goalkeeper.

The German goalkeeper signed from Mainz in the summer but lost his place to Simon Mignolet at the start of the season after he sustained a broken hand injury in preseason.

The 23-year-old Germany international has been told by Klopp that he is first choice.
Klopp said at a news conference on Monday that Mignolet would be in-goal against Spurs at Anfield in the EFL clash.

“The chance is 100 percent.
“That’s only if nothing happens in training, but then he will play 100 percent.”
“In this moment we have a No 1 and that’s Loris Karius,” Klopp said at his press conference on Monday. “That’s the situation. I cannot leave them in doubt.
“After the last international break I spoke to both of them and we made this decision. That’s the ranking. Loris No.1, Simon No.2.
“ Mignolet is a very serious player, a good professional. He’s still not happy but you cannot see it in training. He is hard-working and improving.
“I couldn’t say: ‘You are bad and he is good, that’s why he’s playing.’ This is what I call a luxury problem.
“We had to make a decision, and I made it. Of course he was not happy about this, but he is a very good professional.
“He’s still hard-working and improving and doing all that he needs to do.”

Klopp, who is not interested in giving his opinion on who wins the League said it was too early to talk about who takes the crown yet.

“I don’t care. It’s normal when you are in a good position people talk about you positively.
“I recognise there is a good mood. Let’s carry on.
“Hopefully you can ask these questions all the season through, it’s good until now.”
