Jose Mourinho Swoop In To Hijack Chelsea’s Move For Powerful Midfielder

Radja Nainggolan

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has set sights on Roma midfielder Radja Nainnggolan this summer amid interest from Chelsea, according to reports.

The Belgian midfielder has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the last summer window, with reports that Antonio Conte is a longterm fan of the player’s strong attributes in the midfield.

The Blues boss failed in his bid to sign Nainnggolan last summer and have retained his interest in the midfielder as Conte hopes to bolster his title-winning squad this summer ahead of another busy campaign next season.

Reports in Sky Sports claim that Jose Mourinho is prepared to move for the 29-year-old and beat league rivals, Chelsea to his signature. The report claim that a deal has not been agreed for the midfielder as Roma remains adamant during negotiations after rejecting Chelsea’s bid of £34 million during the last summer window.

There are suggestions that a bidding war between Chelsea and Manchester United could ensue this summer as the duo of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte will battle it out for Nainnggolan’s signature.

The midfielder had earlier confirmed that Conte spoke with him about a potential move last summer, he said: ‘Yes I talked to him, they were really interested and wanted me over there. That’s all I can say.’
