Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that Blues teammate Eden Hazard deserves to win the Player of the Year Award.

The former Arsenal player didn’t reveal the recipient of his vote for the Premier League Player of the Year Award in his latest interview monitored by Goal.

Giroud told reporters that he would have voted for Eden Hazard who has been in phenomenal form for Chelsea this season especially in the Premier League.

The Belgian international has scored 16 goals and assisted 12 goals in the Premier League this season.

France World Cup winner Giroud also talked about Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk ahead of the upcoming Premier League encounter scheduled for Anfield on Sunday evening.

The Frenchman described Dutch international Van Dijk as a tough opponent before saying that he has scored against him in the past at both club and country levels.

Giroud and Chelsea have a very good record against Liverpool ahead of their Premier League clash this weekend.

Liverpool have not beaten Chelsea in the last six meetings between the two teams in the Premier League which is a record for the Reds.

In total, the Reds have only managed two victories in the last 16 games against West London giants Chelsea in all competitions.
