Gunners Interested In Algerian ‘Left Back’ Faouzi Ghoulam – Reports

English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal are one of a number of top European clubs interested in signing highly rated Algerian left back, Faouzi Ghoulam, who features for Napoli in the Italian Serie A, as per the report in the news outlet Daily Star.

The 25-year old Ghoulam has developed into a key performer for UEFA Champions League (UCL) hopefuls Napoli since he joined them from French side Saint Etienne in January 2014.

Arsenal have two international left back options in Spaniard Nacho Monreal and Englishman Kieran Gibbs though the former is presently the first choice however that has not stopped the reported interest in Faouzi Ghoulam.

Since joining Napoli in almost three years, Ghoulam, who has made 23 appearances for the Desert Foxes of Algeria, has been involved in 29 top flight clean sheets in comparison to 37 top flight clean sheets on the part of Nacho Monreal within that time.

He has however delivered nine assists since he joined Napoli compared to Monreal, who has made five assists in that time making him a more attacking option than what is obtainable with the Spanish left back.

The Algerian also has a height advantage at 6FT 1IN in comparison to Nacho Monreal (5FT 10IN) however the latter has made more starts (81) than Faouzi Ghoulam (77).
