Former Tottenham Midfielder Reveals What Chelsea Are Doing So Well This Season

Glenn Hoddle credits Chelsea boss with always making sure his team are as well-drilled as possible

English former footballer and manager Glenn Hoddle has credited Chelsea new Italian boss Antonio Conte with always making sure that his team are fully focused on their job this campaign.

The Stamford Bridge club have been in brilliant form since the Italian coach’s appointment at Stamford Bridge last year’s summer.

Even though the blues initially struggled in the opening weeks of the campaign, they have since found their feet and have not looked back since the manager opted to switch to a 3-4-3 formation for the club.

The West London side are flying high at the top of the Premier League table and are also currently eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

And following their 2-0 victory over Wolves at Molinuex on Saturday night, Chelsea have set up an FA Cup clash against Manchester United.

And Glenn Hoddle is of the opinion that the way Antonio drills his team on what is expected of them has helped set them apart this term.

Hoddle speaking on BT Sport on Saturday, said: “Every team Conte sends out, they are focused. They know what they are doing with the ball and defensively.

“This is the balance they have got. It does not matter who’s playing.”

Chelsea finished in the 10th position last season and without a trophy under the management of present Man United coach Jose Mourinho.

They will be taking on Swansea City in the Premier League this weekend as they seek to continue their fine form that might see them being crowned champions come May.

And additionally, the Chelsea boss has praised captain Terry’s performance against Wolves and insisted he is happy with the defender.
