Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has reportedly told senior club officials that he would like to see out the rest of his contract at the club.

According to trusted Spanish newspaper AS, Bale wants to spend the remainder of his contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu despite the fact that Real Madrid have transfer-listed him.

The Welsh international star is deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid having been snubbed by manager Zinedine Zidane for the last three league games of the just concluded Spanish La Liga campaign.

Real Madrid want to offload Bale with several Premier League clubs linked with the former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur player.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur whom he left for Real Madrid in a then world-record fee believed to be around £86m in 2013.

He has also been linked with the duo of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Since his transfer to Real Madrid six years ago, the Welsh attacker has won four Champions League titles at the club including the one he bagged during his debut season.

His biggest contribution in the Champions League final came during the 2018 edition when he scored two goals to hand Real Madrid a 3-1 win over Liverpool and a third successive title.
