Ex Liverpool Striker speaks out “I frighten Gerald”

The Liverpool legend Steven Gerald put an end to his career and it has been topic of much discussion as players and managers have been having their say on it.

El Hadji Diouf also had something interesting to say; “When I arrived, I showed him that he was nothing,” he told SFR Sport.

“I asked him, ‘What great competition have you played and where do people remember you?’ It wasn’t [Zinedine] Zidane.

“For me, he was a player like everyone else. He had to keep up well, and play as he knew how to do, but don’t go to the coach to report what happens in the dressing room.”

He went on to say the Liverpool skipper was scared of him

Diouf believes Gerrard became scared of him, adding: “He knows that I don’t mince words.

“And when I arrived at Liverpool, it was he who asked me for my jersey, not the opposite.”

El Hadji Diouf was at Liverpool for two years. He has also criticized Gerald in the past.

The English man made 710 appearance as a Liverpool player scoring 186 goals.

He captained the Liverpool side that won the 2005 champions league final at Istanbul. Said to be the greatest champions league comeback.

Steven Gerald won seven trophies which include; two FA Cups, three League Cups, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

The mildfielder won 114 caps for England and also captained his nation at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups before calling quit on career.
