Deal Done: Club Confirms Defender’s Deal

Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake has been regarded as one of Chelsea stars expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after strongly linked with a permanent move to Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old made 12 English top flight appearances for the Cherries last term before he was called back to Stamford Bridge in January to add to the options in Antonio Conte’s defence. He was also able to play a little role in Chelsea’s Premier League title success and the FA Cup final.

In a new development, the south coast club have completed his signing from Chelsea for a club-record fee of around £20M.

Even though Chelsea boss Antonio Conte had hailed the Dutchman for adapting quickly to life at Stamford Bridge, he has now been deemed surplus to requirements in his team.

Speaking about the purchase of Ake from Chelsea, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe revealed how delighted he is to have successfully completed the signing of the player on a permanent basis.

‘He is someone we know all about, having had a very successful loan spell here last season.

‘Nathan is an outstanding young player with a fantastic attitude and a great desire to learn and develop.

‘He has a very bright future ahead of him and I’m very pleased to say that future is here.’ he added.
