Emerging reports indicate that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has lost faith in manager Mourinho’s ability to compete and deliver a title at the Old Trafford.

This will, therefore, influence the player’s decision in signing a new contract as his present agreement with the club ends at the end of this campaign.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been slow in committing his future to the club with his interest in playing under the Portuguese manager already lost.

It has been a bad season for the Old Trafford side this season with three games already lost from 8 Premier League matches this season. United were also eliminated from the Carabao cup by Championship side Derby County right at the Old Trafford.

This adds to the unrest at the club and dressing room as a result of the rift between the manager and some of the big players in the team.

The Red Devils are now seven points behind the joint league leaders, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool who all have 20 points so far.

With all of this development, De Gea seems to be considering a move away as he is not convinced the situation can be changed around under Mourinho.

However, United have the option to trigger a 12-month extension for the Spanish goalie so as to be able to cash in on him knowing the huge financial commitment he has enjoyed.
