David Luiz Focused On Results Over Contract Extension
Chelsea defender David Luiz is happy for the club to focus on results rather than his contract extension as he revealed that he’s enjoying one of his best seasons at the club.
David Luiz spoke about his contract situation at Chelsea in an interview monitored by popular media portal Goal.
According to him, West London giants Chelsea should focus on getting results as they compete for honours on three fronts after the Carabao Cup trophy eluded them on Sunday.
The Blues were beaten 4-3 on penalties by holders Manchester City after both sides played out a goalless draw at the end of ninety minutes and extra time.
This is a vastly improved Chelsea outing in comparison to their last meeting in the Premier League which ended in a disaster.
Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 6-0 with Argentine striker Sergio Aguero getting a treble in addition to further goals from Raheem Sterling (2) and Ilkay Gundogan.
David Luiz was not at his best for that Manchester City game but he has had a very good season for Chelsea this term.
The Brazilian centre back joined Chelsea from PSG in 2016 and was part of the Blues team that won the Premier League title under former manager Antonio Conte.
