Danny Ings Suffers Another Horrific Injury, Set To Miss Rest Of The Season

Liverpool striker Danny Ings has suffered another horrific injury and will miss the rest of the season. The injury occurred in Ings second appearance of the season in the EFL cup fourth round when he made a tackle in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham. He has suffered ligament damage to his right knee and will be out of action for about nine months and is scheduled to have a surgery in London on Wednesday.

This continued a bad run of injuries Ings had suffered during his career. While at Burnley he had suffered long term injuries and only last season with Liverpool was forced to miss most of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee.

Manager, Jurgen Kloop confirmed the injury and said “To say we are gutted would be an understatement; he is such a great boy and has worked so hard that he deserves better luck than this. It is typical of Danny’s personality, on and off the pitch that he picked up this injury to his knee when courageously trying to win the ball back for his team by making a tackle.

“But it is this same personality that means he will come back as good and as strong from this latest setback as he has done in the past. I’m told the likely layoff is anywhere from between seven to nine months. He is mentally strong, physically strong and will have the very best treatment and rehab possible to make sure when he returns he is ready to play for us at the level we know he is capable of.”
