Conte Orders Chelsea To Sign Experienced Premier League Striker

Fernando Llorente

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on signing Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente next month.

The Blues boss wants to bring the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge to deputise for Diego Costa who is currently on a fine goalscoring form, netting 13 goals so far and could win the Golden Boot if he continues in same fashion.

Conte is said to be long-term admirer of the experienced forward and knows him well from their time together in Juventus. This move may force Michy Batshauyi out of the club, having failed to nail a starting spot in the Blues squad in the first half of the season already.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of their clash this weekend, the Italian revealed plans in January.

He said:  “In January it’s always very difficult to buy. Every team wants to keep their best players, they don’t want to sell.

“But we are trying to think of the best way to face the rest of the season, for sure.

“We are looking at our squad and then we will take the best decision. As I said before, it’s not easy in the window.”

The Blues are currently six points clear but Conte is keen to strengthen his squad for the rest of the season.
