Chelsea boss Antonio Conte needs four new signings before the end of this summer transfer window, and there are reports that he has asked the club’s transfer gurus to bring in more English players so as to bolster Chelsea’s homegrown quota.

After the exit of John Terry, Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Gary Cahill remains the only regular English player in the Chelsea squad.

The Telegraph reported that Chelsea boss is looking at signing both Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Everton midfielder Rosss Barkley.

Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain has just one year remaining on his contract at the club and has also been heavily linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in recent times.

However, he is seen as a nice competition for Victor Moses in the right wing-back role after he was converted by Arsene Wenger towards the tail-end of last season.

The England international is likely to command a fee of around £30 million, and there are claims that he desire playing in the Champions League next season – a challenge Arsenal can’t offer him.

Ross Barkley on the other hand has been told he can leave Everton by the club’s boss Ronald Koeman with several English clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United willing to sign him.

Despite Ross having just year left on his contract at Goodison Park, Everton are still demanding £50M for him, after selling Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for £75M earlier this summer.

The other two signings Antonio wants are Juventus left-back Alex Sandro and Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente.
