Premier League giants Liverpool have registered their interest in Trabzonspor shot stopper Ugurcan Cakir according to his agent.

Erdi Kirkpinar told Turkish media outlet Ajansspor about the interest of the five-time European champions.

Ugurcan Cakir, 23, is also attracting the interest of both Lille and Schalke 04.

According to Kirkpinar, German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 have not made an official offer for his client.

Brazilian international Alisson Becker is the undisputed number one at Liverpool but the former AS Roma shot stopper might need a backup for the new season.

Simon Mignolet has been the second choice goalkeeper at Liverpool this season but the Belgian international has already talked up the possibility of an exit from the club in search of regular first team opportunities.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper has featured in just two games for Liverpool this season.

He was in goal for the third round exit to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup via a 2-1 home defeat to the Blues.

Mignolet also played for Liverpool during the 2-1 away loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup in January.

He has played second fiddle to Alisson Becker who joined Liverpool from Italian capital club AS Roma for a then world-record fee of £65m for a goalkeeper.
