Chelsea youngster Kenedy has returned to Stamford Bridge after a poor loan spell with Watford.

Hornets boss Walter Mazzari has revealed the 20-year-old who joined Watford on a season-long loan has returned to his parent club, Chelsea due to a niggling knee injury which has made him play only 15 minutes for the club during their defeat to Burnley earlier this season.

Mazzarri said: ‘Kenedy went back to Chelsea,

‘He was a player we never had time to evaluate because he was injured the whole time.’

Confirming Kenedy’s return to Chelsea, Cesc Fabregas posted a photo of himself and the winger which initially sparked suggestions he had returned to Stamford Bridge.

Kenedy moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2015 from Brazilian side, Fluminense and showed glimpses of quality last season but was farmed out on loan to Watford during the last transfer window.

What remains to be seen is whether Antonio Conte will decide to keep him in the squad or ship him out on loan once more.

Despite sticking with the 3-4-3 formation using same set of players, the Italian boss has shown he has some kind of belief in youngsters as the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah, Ola Aina and Loftus-cheek have featured for the Blues this season already.
