As English premier league table leaders Chelsea are set to take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in their next premier league game on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, former Man United Star Michael Owen is already backing the Stamford Bridge club to emerge victors.

After their shocking 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace last Saturday at Stamford Bridge, the premier league leaders saw their ten points domination over second-place Tottenham Hotspur reduced dramatically to seven, as the White Hart Lane outfit got a 2-0 victory at Burnley.

However, former England striker Michael Owen is of the opinion that Chelsea will return back to winning ways and get their title challenge back on track by emerging victors over Manchester City.

In City’s last premier league outing, Pep Guardiola’s men could only get a 2-2 draw with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at the Emirates, and the former Liverpool striker is not pleased with City’s defence.

As the two outstanding managers go head to head at Stamford Bridge, Owen reminded us that Chelsea have not lost back-to-back home games in the English top flight since November 2011 back when Andre Villas-Boas was still boss. And he declared that he never expects Antonio Conte’s men to lose two premier league games on a roll.

He told Betvictor that many would prefer City to win the game, as that will breathe new life into the crown race. But to him, City’s defense needs to be better than what they showed against Arsenal, hence Chelsea will win easily.
