Alvaro Morata

English Premier League giants Chelsea FC have been given a boost in their hopes of signing Alvaro Morata from La Liga side Real Madrid. Morata is one of Conte’s top targets for the summer as he seeks to bolster his squad further.

Even though the blues are impressive and are on course for the EPL title, it appears Conte still need reinforcements with the addition of Champions League football.

Additionally, Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s future is still uncertain after interest from China last month.

Alvaro Morata wants more playing time at Madrid as he struggled to displace Karim Benzema this season.

And according to reports in Spain, Benzema is to be offered a new deal at the Madrid club. And it is obvious that any new deal for Benzema would have a big impact on Morata and his future at Madrid.

24-year old Morata returned to Real Madrid last summer after two seasons at Juventus. Even though Conte had tried to sign him then, he was rebuffed. He is nevertheless set to go back in this summer – with the attraction of Champions League football.

This season so far, he has made just six La Liga starts with six goals – and has come off the bench on eight occasions.
