Chelsea Set To Pull Out Of Race, Man Utd And Arsenal Still In To Sign James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez

Real Madrid star player James Rodriguez is expected to leave the Champions League winners this summer and has been linked with Chelsea in recent times.

However, according to reports, it appears the premier league champions would no longer be after his signature as it is understood they are unwilling to meet Real Madrid’s valuation of the Columbia International.

Real Madrid are said to be demanding £70million for James Rodriguez, but the west London club feels the fee is too high for a player who made just 13 starts in the Spanish top flight last term and who wasn’t deemed worthy of a chance in Zidane’s squad for the Champions League final at Cardiff.

The Evening Standard says the Stamford Bridge club will not pay that much, and it is unlikely the Colombian star will be moving to Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea are understood to be very much interested in him and have moved ahead in the battle for his signature, as the 25-year-old is also linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.

It is very unlikely that Arsene Wenger will splash a hefty amount as £70 Million on a player, but we look forward to Man United’s reactions.

In the just concluded La Liga season, Rodriquez was able to score 8 goals and provided 6 assists with a pass completion rate of 89%.
