Chelsea are monitoring the situation of West Ham United star Dimtri Payet, according to reports.

The French midfielder has admitted he wants to move from the Hammers with reports that a host of clubs like Arsenal and PSG are said to be in the race to sign him.

Chelsea have now ready to rival other clubs for the want-away star as they look to strengthen their midfield this January transfer window after losing the duo of Oscar and John Obi Mikel to the Chinese Super League, following uncertainties on their reported targets.

Payet who is currently unsettled at West Ham was a standout performer for them last season and even earned a place in the Les Blues squad that reached the final of the Euro 2016 tournament but did not start this current season in typical fashion.

Antonio Conte is understood to have stepped up his interest in the attacking midfielder as it was confirmed he wants out of his current club.

West Ham also said to be interest in out of favour Michy Batshauyi who could leave the Stamford Bridge in search of more first team football this winter.

Reports in the Sun have it that the Blues are aware of West Ham’s intention to land the Belgium international and could use him as a makeweight in a potential deal.
