Chelsea Star: No, I Don’t Want To Be Chelsea’s Next Captain!

Eden Hazard

It is now official that Chelsea longtime captain John Terry is leaving the club at the end of this season.

The prominent issue right now is not about seeking a replacement at the back (since the likes of David Luiz made him sit on the bench this season already), but getting a permanent captain this summer.

Defender Gary Cahill is the one who has captained Conte’s side for the majority of this current campaign when Terry was sitting on the bench. So, he is more likely to be the appointed one.

However, Belgium international Eden Hazard shouldn’t be ignored because he has captained his national team and might be considered also.

However, the Belgian winger, who has been in fine form that made him enjoyed a fine season at the west London club says that he is not the best person to succeed the English legend as the club’s captain.

He says he does not believe he will be the right choice, adding that even Azpilicueta who captained the side in the absence of Cahill last weekend, can do the job better than he could.

He added that he doesn’t have the attributes of a good captain, one of which includes taking to make the guys ready for games. He stated plainly that he prefers taking with his feet, and he isn’t too good talking to people.
