Jose Mourinho

The Blues will file out against arch-rivals United at Old Trafford in a crunch FA Cup tie that prompted the postponement of the EPL Clash between Chelsea vs. Watford at the Brigde and Southampton vs. Manchester United at the St. Mary Stadium.

Whichever way the world is waiting as the English sides takes to the pitch in an attempt to book a ticket to the last four of the FA Cup competition which will take place at Wembley Stadium.

It will be a mouthwatering encounter for many reasons as Jose Mourinho returns to the Chelsea side who defeated United 4-0 earlier in the season.

With the stage set for a special night of football among the English heavyweights, we take a look at some features to expect from the game.
Here are three reasons why we look forward to the Chelsea vs. United game.

JOSE MOURINHO’S TANTRUM

The Charismatic manger Jose Mourinho had instigated some fuel in the media ahead of the game when he said that Chelsea have managed to be on top of the Premier League Log due to their defensive play.

The manager threw a tantrum siting that when Chelsea scores a goal they defend a lot to win the game and this statement was countered by Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill.

The defender(Cahill) came out in defence of his Chelsea side to say that “the Blues deserve their place at the top of the League irrespective of what anyone says and that they will keep more focus with a difficult fixture coming later in March until the dream(Premier League title) is achieved”.

The defender further stated that “we attack as a group and defend as a group and that is why we (Chelsea) are at the top of the League standings”.

This show of words will spur Chelsea players like Eden Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez to invade the United defence in search of goal in the game to prove a point as Mourinho and United come into the game occupying the sixth position in the league table.

REVENGE MISSION FOR UNITED

The Red Devils have lost to the Blues 4-0 in the League and will be out to make amends in other to salvage their own reputation with an eye in the next stage of the competition.

The United side have gone through some ups and downs this season and they will be fully motivated to get their own pound of flesh against a Chelsea side who seems to be comfortable on the Premier League Log (10 points above nearest rivals Tottenham Hotspurs in the League Standings).

The likes of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcos Rashford will be waiting to take on the Chelsea defence which have let in few goals this season.

As United seek revenge in the game they will be going for an all-out attack to win with a view of booking a place in the next round as the 4-0 defeat earlier  this season is widely not acceptable by Manchester United by all standards.

JOSE CHELSEA ANIMOSITY

The Chelsea side after winning the Premier League two seasons ago were heading for the drop until the Portuguese manager was relived off his job and been replaced by Dutch manager Guus Hiddink who managed the side for the rest of the season.

Mourinho’s departure was as a result of the break in relationship with the Chelsea (core) players who were not happy with their Portuguese manager following series of criticism directed to the players in the press conference after matches.

The Manager (Mourinho) was remembered to say in the Press conference after an away game that he made 11 mistakes and this continued as the players revolted in the dressing room and refuse to produce result on the pitch which led to Mourinho departure at the club.

In the 4-0 defeat earlier in the season ,there was a level of animosity in the game as Chelsea players vented their rage against United at Stamford Bridge as they came back to haunt in the game. Expect another kind of match as the Blues are certainly waiting for the Red Devils with Mourinho in mind.
