Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah will miss the crucial Champions League game with Spanish champions Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The Reds host Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal tie billed for Anfield hoping to overturn the 3-0 deficit suffered from the first leg.

The non-availability of Salah was confirmed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp during his pre-match press conference ahead of the game.

The Egyptian international will sit out the game because of the medical rules governing football.

Salah suffered a concussion during the Premier League game at Newcastle United at the weekend and he won’t taste action for one week as a result.

He had to be stretchered off during the league game against the Magpies which ended in a 3-2 win for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah had scored one of the goals before he was subbed off for Belgian international striker Divock Origi who went on to score the winner for Liverpool with four minutes left on the clock.

Liverpool will certainly miss the attacking influence of topscorer Salah who has scored 26 goals in all competitions this term in addition to 44 goals in 52 games in his first campaign at the club last season.

The Reds will also be without Brazilian international Roberto Firmino who’s recovering from a muscle injury.

Both players should be fit for the Wolverhampton Wanderers game in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Wolves match is their final league game this season.
