Tiemoue Bakayoko

As things stands now in the premier league, it is obvious that Chelsea are one of the teams with the best midfield in the League at the moment. Chelsea have outstanding midfielders in the first team and also have a handful of quality alternatives and versatile stars.

Despite it all, it seems Chelsea’s boss Antonio Conte desire to further reinforce his midfield department and latest reports have indicated that the premier league leaders have agreed personal terms with Frenchman and Monaco player Tiemoue Bakayoko. The France international is rated around 60 million euros.

The strong defensive midfielder has been very brilliant for his Ligue 1 club this season, and his brilliant performances has saw him been selected in the senior national side for the first time. Therefore, Bakayoko could make his debut for his national side when they face Luxembourg in the World Cup qualification game.

Already, Conte have a strong holding midfield star in the person of Serbian international Nemanja Matic. This season, Matic has been firm and solid in center of the park and has worked well with French star N’Golo Kante.

Bakayoko’s major role in Monaco is to stop opponents looming towards goal and so he is not too good up front – and he has scored just a few goals for his Ligue 1 club.

If he should eventually come to Chelsea, then it is expected that he replace Matic in the starting XI in Antonio Conte’s usual 3-4-3 formation.

Alternatively, the former Juventus manager could decide to begin a 4-3-3 system: starting the trio of Matic, Bakayoko and Kante all in the midfield.
