Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will remain at the club.

The duo of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have continued to stall to renew their contracts at the Emirates which has sparked speculations that the Chilean striker could join Chelsea.

But Wenger has reacted to the news while speaking at his press conference, He said: ’18 months is quite long in football you know,

‘They have 18 months contract and are completely committed and will do well as long as they are here. Beyond that we will try to extend their contract.

‘No matter what happens they will stay 18 months, and hopefully much longer.

‘But I can’t make a subject of that in every press conference. The less you talk about it the better it is.

‘At some stage you have to accept negotiations are private and secret, we don’t have to come out every day to explain everything. We are professionals, we’ll work until the last day of our contracts.’

On the contrary, Gunners legend David Seaman believes the attacking pair should be tied to a new deal as soon as possible.

He said: ‘You look at the squad and the only problem really is keeping Ozil and Sanchez at the club.

‘I think he’ll be saving his money for those two. It could be (Arsenal’s season in Europe) but I would take the Premier League first just to shut everyone up.

‘We’re entering a crucial part of the season, January is going to be vital.
