Arsenal are planning to offload Mesut Ozil to raise funds for Alexis Sanchez’s new deal at the club, according to reports.

The Gunners are currently trying to fend off interest from a number of clubs in Europe for Sanchez, who has refused to renew his contract with the Gunners, with just one year to expire.

The 28-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from a couple of clubs as they try to lure him away from the Emirates, with reports that his agent has met with Manchester City and Bayern Munich about a possible move, but it is understood that the German giants have pulled out of a potential deal due to the player’s astronomical demands.

Arsenal are now growing in confidence about sealing a new deal for Alexis but reports in The Times claim the club will offload Mesut Ozil to fund a new deal for his teammate.

Although Ozil has not been able to attract much attention despite the state of his contract, with reports that only Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce have shown interest in the German playmaker.

Unlike the midfielder, Sanchez has received a barrage of offers from big clubs in Europe trying to lure him out of Arsenal.
