Arsenal are considering a move for Bordeaux forward Gaetan Laborde as an alternative for Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

The Gunners have been linked with quite a number of targets this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to add extra bite to his squad after seeing them fail to make a Champions League spot for the first time in a decade.

Arsenal are being linked with several big names for the first time in a while following criticisms from large sections of the club’s fans and it appears they are willing to spend big in this summer transfer window.

One of the names linked with the North London club is Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette with reports that a transfer move for the forward is being discussed between Arsenal and Lyon while the move might materialise next week.

However, reports in Foot Mercato have it that Arsene Wenger has identified Laborde as an alternative in case a move for Lacazette does not come through as there are indications that the 26-year-old might hold out for a move to Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old striker who scored 13 goals and five assists for Bordeaux last season, with reports that the player is open to a move to the Premier League this summer.
