Bournemouth release Jack Wilshere statement

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out of the season through injury.

The 25-year-old midfielder who is currently on-loan at Bournemouth, will miss the rest of the season through injury. The Englishman limped off during Cherries’ clash against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, with scans showing that he suffered a hairline crack of his left fibula.

Confirming the sad news, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said: ‘It is a big blow to lose Jack,

‘We have loved working with him since he arrived at the club last August. He has made a huge contribution to our season, both on and off the pitch. We wish him a quick recovery and thank him for his effort and professionalism while he was with us.’

This injury signals the end of Wilshere’s loan spell at the Vitality stadium, where he was expected to re-invent his career following an injury-stricken time at the Emirates.

Wilshere who rose through the ranks, has been hailed for his leadership qualities and determination but his career has been plagued with incessant injuries.

What remains yet to be known is whether the midfielder will return to the Emirates to start process to recover from the injury or remain with the Cherries for the rest of the season.
