Arsenal Interested In United Star, Ozil Could Move The Other Way

Jesse Lingard

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on signing Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard according to the Sun on Sunday with the Gunners’ playmaker Mesut Ozil possibly moving the other way in what would be a swap deal.

As per the report Lingard, who is an academy product at Old Trafford would be offered a double your money wages of £120,000 when he wants to move to Arsenal. This is however surprising though considering the history between Wenger and his United counterpart Jose Mourinho though getting Ozil in return would be a dream transfer for the former Inter Milan, Chelsea, FC Porto and Real Madrid boss.

The Portuguese worked with German playmaker Ozil at European champions Real Madrid as he described him as “the best No 10 in the world.”

27-year old Ozil, who won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the German national team, has been in sensational goalscoring form this season and he already has nine goals in all competitions even before the halfway stage of the season in stark comparison to when he scored just 9 goals for Arsenal throughout last season. This is all the more remarkable due to the fact that he has been in contract talks with the club for a while without any breakthrough yet.
