Antonio Conte has refused to debunk reports that Cesc Fabregas could be off to Roma in the transfer window.

Fabregas has made only one appearance for Chelsea in the couple of months by Conte stayed on the bench during their 1-0 win over West Bromvich Albion last Sunday.

The Spaniard has been left out of the Blues 3-4-3 formation which has sparked speculations that he will be moving to the Serie A next January.

The Italian boss was asked about the possibility of Fabregas moving to Italy while speaking at his press conference ahead of the trip to Sunderland but he refused to rule out a move for the former Barcelona midfielder.

‘In football, my experience is it’s very difficult to guarantee’ said Conte.

‘Cesc is an important player, he played a key game vs Man City and in the last game he came on and did very well.’

There are speculations that the Blues are hoping to offload Cesc Fabregas in a bid to accommodate Nainggolan from Roma, as the Italian boss continues to search for reinforcements.

In related news, Conte has warned Diego Costa will only improve during the second half of the season, after scoring 12 goals so far in the league to be the top scorer in the league after 15 games.
