According to reports in France, Arsenal and Chile attacker Alexis Sanchez is close to agreeing a deal with Ligue one giant Paris Saint-Germain.

France Local publication L’Equipe reported that the Chile international forward’s agent have held advanced discussions with Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Antero Henrique and the terms of a transfer deal are close to being agreed on and finalised.

The Parisians want to tie the diminutive midfielder down to a long-term contract, but Sanchez’s management only want a three-year contract worth around £275,000 a week after tax.

Reports indicate the Capital City club are confident that an agreement can be reached, but they still have to settle on a transfer fee with the North London club.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is adamant the 28-year-old forward will not be sold this summer transfer window, but it’s believed that if that stance were to change at all, the Gunners would prefer to do business with a team outside of England.

Premier League giant Manchester City is reportedly Sanchez’s preferred destination, and he admitted for the first time last week that he wants to leave the Emirate Stadium to play for a team in the UEFA Champions League.

The attacker has just 12 months left on his current deal and has given no signs that he is ready to extend his contract at the Emirate.
