Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is edging closer to agreeing on a deal which will see him lose one of his strikers this summer transfer window.

The Arsenal boss has sold the likes of Yaya Sanogo, Wojciech Szczesny, Kaylen Hinds and Chris Willock so far ahead of the upcoming League season.

And Lucas Perez now seems to be the player closing in on a move away as Arsene Wenger continues his summer clear-out.

As per the Mirror, the forward’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez is now in the City of London for discussions over his departure.

The report claims Perez’s agent is attempting to help seal a return to La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna for the Spaniard.

The Gunners have already received a bid from the Spanish side who are ready to hand Perez a long-term deal and a future coaching role at the La Liga club.

The 28-year-old, who is currently earning €78,000-a-week (£70,000) in wages, rarely featured in his first season at the Emirates Stadium.

The agent recently reiterated his client’s wish to leave the North London club for good.

“I’m waiting for Arsenal to come back to me,” the player’s agent said

“But the best offer they have on the table for Lucas is from Deportivo.

“At Arsenal, they know he’s going to play very little there, and they know that Deportivo wants him.”
