Atalanta midfielder and Chelsea target Franck Kessie might move elsewhere due to tense competition for his signature, according to his agent George Atangana.

The Ivorian ace has continually drawn transfer interest from a number of top clubs in Europe due to his consistent displays in the Italian Serie A with Atalanta.

Chelsea were believed to be keen on signing him during the last January transfer window as he viewed as potential replacements for Mikel and Oscar who left the Stamford Bridge in favour of a move to China.

His agent has now claimed Kessi might move elsewhere, and even hinted at a move to Roma for the 22-year-old midfielder, he told RAI Sport: ‘Franck is close to many clubs and close to none,

‘I must admit that Roma have the advantage for Kessie, but we haven’t closed a deal yet because there are other top clubs interested who continue calling me.

‘There are very few clubs who can afford him, though. I can confirm he’s a good lad, honest and humble. He was brought up well.

‘I can’t say how much he is worth, because that is down to Atalanta. I can only say he is a complete player and everywhere you put him, he can do that role.’

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is understood to be a keen admirer of Kessie’s box-to-box abilities and will move for him in the summer window as he looks to bolster his squad.
